Diffculties and Safety

Trekking to Ponn Hill is not very easy  cuz of lots of uphill and downhill. Average fitness is required not to be in the pain make sure you have enough walking experience to enjoy the trek. Most of the days include 4-7 hours walking. Altitude can be the problem too so  drinking lots of fluids and going slowly is important to avoid altitude sickness. Your safety is of our major concern. Your Trekking guide has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns.  Since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. The Guide will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

Best Time To Visit

Autumn (Sept to Nov) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Poon Hill Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) could also be an another great option.

However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests. Trekking in the Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug) will be affected by rain but the Summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.

Many thanks to Saligram Aryal for treating me so well from our first email contact to our last moment at the airport. His response to emails and questions was always prompt and professional in the build-up to the trip, and after arriving, he was consistently reliable, punctual and honest. Excursions and the trek itself was handled with impressive attention to detail and consideration towards the group – Saligram thought of everything and because he understands what is important to travellers, he ensures that all needs are met before they even occur to you. He makes it seem effortless and the result is a wonderful experience. He is a sensitive and considerate host with a wonderful and quirky sense of humour. Day trips in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur were interesting and fun, and the trek itself was amazing. Experiencing the magnificence of the Himalayas is the highlight of the experience, and trekking is the ideal way to experience it. It is therefore a bonus to be guided by someone like Saligram, because he has perfected the delicate art of being lots of fun without anyone ever doubting that he is the boss. I found Saligram and his team interesting, knowledgeable, entertaining and 100% trustworthy. Along with our fabulous and lovable porters, Dinesh and Niraj, it felt more like a little family trekking together and less like a group. Saligram arranged all trips, travel and hotels while in Nepal and Tibet. These are destinations unlike any other and his care and attention to detail made the time spent in these countries unique and special. Thank you Saligram and team for a thousand unforgettable memories and impressions, for making me feel safe and secure at all times, for all the fun and laughter, and for giving me real insight into two beautiful countries and their equally beautiful people. It goes without saying that I highly recommend Mountain World Treks. I can’t wait to be back to experience more of the special kind of magic that this wonderful family-owned business generates[ Back ]
