Annapurna region is one of the famous tourist destination of Nepal which is located in North central of Nepal bounded by Kali Gandaki Gorge on west, Marshyandi river on east and north and beautiful Pokhara valley in the south. This region is generous in its diversity, nature and culture and magnificent Himalayan range surrounding it. Major mountain ranges are Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri Range and Machhapuchhre- the most beautiful mountain of fish-tail shape seen from the city of Pokhara. Mountains seen during this trail are Annapurna III, Annapurna II, Tilicho, Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri. Capturing the views of all these Himalayan ranges from Poonhill station is a heavenly experience, which provides magnificent sunrise and sunset views on these mountains. Buddhist Monastry of Barga, Pilgrim town of Muktinath and natural hot spring at Tatopaani are some destinations that hold great religious values. The Cross Thorong La (5416m) is the ultimate destination that gives you the breath-taking Himalaya experience. world’s deepest Kaligandaki gorge also lies in this region.

To start trekking in the rigion, Pokhara valley is your gateway which lies 200 Km west of Kathmandu. You can step into this valley either by 30 min air to Pokhara or by 6 hour drive from the capital of country. Its climate is much cooler as it lies in higher altitude. People like Gurungs, Thakali, Magars and Brahman are found in lower part of this region while as you move up people with more Tibetan culture are found. animals like:  Pica, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Tahr, Bear, Leopard, Monkey etc and vegetation like bamboo, Pine, oak, Juniper, Rhododendron, alpine forest etc are also main highlights of Annapurna Region.
