Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek ItineraryPublished On: January 31st, 2018

Day-01:Arrival day in Kathmandu. (1345m).
Greet you at the airport by our representative and transfer you to the hotel and brief you about the activities that you are going to do. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

 

Day-02:Kathmandu to Jiri (1,905 m) 6-7 hrs bus journey.
Drive to Jiri for 8-9 (184km) hours by local bus from Kathmandu. The road will follow Araniko highway with a scenic countryside for our long trek to Everest. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day-03:Jiri to Bhandar (2,190m) 6-7 hrs.
On this day we pass many down hills and uphills which takes you to a small village called Bhandar. It is a sherpa village with huge Tibetan Buddhist monuments situated on the meadow and terrace fields.

 

Day-04:Bhandar to Sete (2,575 m) 6-7 hrs.
We will reach a small nice village called Kinja after some downhill’s trek from Bhandar. After taking lunch at Kinja, slowly we climb to Lamura that offer great view of the surrounding landscapes and distance villages and after few hours of long walk, we finally reach at Sete, a small Sherpa village.

 

Day-05:Sete to Lamjura pass (3,530m) to Junbesi (2,680 m) 6-7 hrs.
Passing through few small scattered farm houses and teahouses through the beautiful rhododendron forest leads the highest point (3,530 m) between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. Traverse on the north side of the valley round a notch before dropping down to the Sherpa village of Junbesi for an overnight stop.

 

Day-06:Junbesi to Nunthala (2,330m) 5-6 hrs.
Below Junbesi the trail crosses the Junbesi Khola on a wooden bridge. We start trek towards Salung, from here, Mt. Everest can be seen on a clear day. Finally we reach Nunthala, place to stay overnight.

 

Day-07:NunthalatoBupsadanda (2,300m) 6-7hrs.
From Nunthala our path descent which continues to the Dudhkoshi River Bridge and the trail lead through terraced fields and yards of houses. Walk continues through forests then climb on the terraces to reach the Rai village of Jubing (1,667m). From Jubing the path took us a slow climb to the village around a ridge, and continues to the village of Khari Khola to push on up the steep hill to Bupsa.

 

Day-08:Bupsadanda toSurkhe (2,290m) 5-6hrs.
Today our trail ascends from Bupsa and head on to Bhumsing village (2,300m) and the trail continues to the north side of the valley to reach Puiyan . After Puiyan trail leads us on the long winding trail with few small ups and downs to Surkhe.

 

Day-09:Surkhe to Phakding (2,610 m) 5 hrs.
After breakfast we start to climb to north to Chaurikharka(2,713m) a large scattered village with monastery and high school. Today our trail joins from Lukla towards Phakding, making the path quite busy with more trekkers, porters and pack animals and few hours of good scenic walk brings you at Phakding for the overnight.

 

Day-10:Phakding to Namche Bazar (3,440m) – 5-6 hrs.
After breakfast we will continue up the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. When enter the National park boundary we descend and a gradual walk brings us to the suspension bridge over the Bhote-Koshi river to Jorsalle village, the last village till Namche Bazaar. Namche is a prosperous trading town and the capital of the Khumbu Region.

 

Day-11:Namche Bazzar (3,440m) Acclimatization day.
Acclimatization day, go higher sleep lower. so we do some hiking to acclimatize our body and same time you will visit the National Park headquarter office, museum, monastery and hike to Everest View Hotel for a superb Mt. Everest view. We will then return to Namche for the night.

 

Day-12:Namche to Tangboche (3,880m), 9.3 Km. 5 hours.
The trekking trail is plain and en route the trail will descend slightly to Dudhkoshi at 3250m. And climb up to Tengboche. And the today’s view from the trekking will be incredible include Mount Everest. Tonight You will stay near by one of the teahouse where is the famous Tengboche Gompa, which has background of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and other peaks. 4-5 hours.

 

Day-13:Tengboche to Pheriche (4,240m), 9.5 Km. 5 hours.
The trail slightly descents through lush forest in the beginning, then gradually climbs up to the valley’s highest year round settlement of Pangboche (3,860m). You will continue ascending in the afternoon through alpine meadows and yak herds, finally reach to pheriche. Approx 4-5 hrs.

 

Day-14:Pheriche (4,240m) Acclimatization day.
Go higher sleep lower, better to use this method to acclimatize your body .Today we will hike to the nearest hill from where you can have beautiful photo taking opportunities. There are up close views of Taweche, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Island Peak and Thamserku, as well as Imja valley. Stay the night in Pheriche.

 

Day-15:Pheriche to Lobuche (4,910m),8.1km. 4-5 hours.
We will walk along the river side which is from Khumbu glacier for 2 hours and we cross the frozen river and climb to the top of a small hill called Thukla. There are many monuments to Everest climbers along this route. From the Thukla hill, gradually ascent towards to Labuche and stay overnight at Tea house. Approx 4-5 hrs.

 

Day-16:Labuche to Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp (5,365m) 11.4 Km. 7 hours.
We will get an early start for our trek to Everest Base Camp. After 2-3 hours hiking we reach Gorakshep (5190m) and this is your overnight stay place, check in the room leave your bags enjoy the hot foods and continue trek to Everest base camp (5365m) another 2 hours. From EBC, the view is one of the most spectacular anywhere in the World, after the few photographs you will return to the Gorakshep same route which takes about 1.5 hours.

 

Day-17:Hike to Kalapattar (5545m.) and back down to Pheriche(4,240m), 15.9 km. 7-8 hours.
Early morning hike to Kalapattar(1.9km) 2 hours, for sunrise view, which will be one of the best view from the EBC trip. After taking few snaps while you are on the top of kalapattar then back to Gorakshep for breakfast. Check out from the tea house and trek down to Pheriche for the night.

 

Day-18:Trek back to Namche Bazar (3,440m,) 18Km. 8 hours.
You will descend approx 800 m. all the down to Namche Bazzar same route and stay overnight at tea house, enjoy the hot shower and good food and have goodnight sleep. Its long walk but easier to gong down hill, at least you can breath.

 

Day-19:Trek back to Lukla (2,840m.) 16.4 km. 7-8 hours.
Namche to Lukla drop down 600m. And enjoy your last night at Himalaya.

 

Day-20:Lukla to kathmandu. 35 min scenic flight.
Time to say bye bye to your porters and thanks them to carrying your bag pack. your guide will arrange the boarding pass and have another scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Free time, rest, eat, shower, drink and explore around.

 

Day-21:Free day in Kathmandu.
This one extra day might be very useful some time if there is anything wrong on the trek can use this day for incase. if everything goes well as plan than you can do sightseeing tour in Kathmandu too. Shopping for friends and familes and get ready to fly back home next day.

 

Day-22:Departure, transfer to airport.
Your guide will come to meet you at hotel and he will drop you the airport before 3 hours than your flight time for your onward destination.
