Kaligandaki River Rafting
This beautiful 3 day trip along the Kali Gandaki is perfect for those people wanting a short to medium length rafting experience. During the Kaligandaki River Rafting you will pass through narrow gorges, thick jungle, and under tumbling waterfalls. You will see traditional Magar and Chetri villages and have the opportunity to view the huge Annapurna mountain range along with a wide variety of wildlife and religious sites along the river banks.
The New Bridge at Kusma is the put in point, situated 3 hours drive from Pokhara by private transport, provided by ourselves. The trip is around 72km and takes us 3 days. Our destination is the ‘dam’ and the return trip to Pokhara takes around 4 and a half hours.

Diffculties and Safety
Rafting in Kaligandaki river is not an easy thing with lots of rapids. Average fitness is required not to be in the pain make sure you have enough experience to enjoy the rafting.
Your safety is one of our major concern. Your guide has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Since this adventure entails Rafting in the river, we will have safty kayakers as well. The Guide will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

At around 7 am, after breakfast in hotel we drive to the rafting put-in point. Upon arrival, we unload all the equipment and you will receive a full safety briefing. Have lunch and the team with safty kayakers begin our 3 days exciting rafting trip. Today we encounter few rapids of class III. Soon after the rapids we reach the Modi Khola confluence where we will choose the beach for the evening campsite.

Once the rafts are packed we start down the river for a day mixed with adrenaline, calm and spectacular scenery including views of Annapurna I and Himchuli. We will face many class III sections and the challenging class IV rapids. We will camp in the beach of Purti Ghat.

After being back on the water we reach the holy village of Seti Beni. From here after the short time we will quit the rafting at Mirme where our bus will be waiting for us. We load up the gear and prepare for the bus journey back to Pokhara 105 km. for 5 hours driving.

Accommodation & Food details
We will provide tourist standard accommodations in Kathmandu and this is possible to upgrade in your choice. All the accommodation in the cities and trekking will provided on twin sharing basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost extra.
During Kaligandaki River Rafting, we will provide tents accomodation and authentic Nepalese food (Dal Bhat) as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). 3 main course meals will be provided during rafting and only breakfast is included while you are in Kathmandu and.
Best Time To Visit
Autumn (Sept to Nov) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons to do Kaligandaki River Rafting. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views.
However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests and there chance to get wet with cold water. Rafting in the Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug) will be affected by rain but the Summer rafting could be a boon for a keen botanist.

We can find variety of these gears to hire or buy in Kathmandu. Majority of the gears which are in sale in Kathmandu are locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper) and can find very high quality branded gears too in some famous stores in Kathmandu.
