Mardi Himal Trek
Mardi Himal is located to the east of the Annapurna Base camp virtually under the spectacular Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). As you trek along the ridge it’s nearly possible, but imaginable, to look down at Annapurna Base camp itself. Mardi Himal Trek goes through quiet stone built villages past wonderful rhododendron forests blooming in many different colors.
The forest path continues until about 3,300 m. when the trail takes on a rugged mountain setting with spectacular views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. There’s a low camp with probably the best views of Machhapuchhre anywhere in Nepal along with accommodation for those all important sunrise and sunset views. Above this at 3580 m is high camp which again offers spectacular views over looking Annapurna Base camp. Further along you can then reach Mardi Himal Base camp itself with views overlooking all of the Annapurna range.
- Panoramic views of Himalayas.
- Walk through rhododendron forest and village.
- Sunrise/ sunset view.
- Life style and culture of stone built village.

Autumn (Sept to Nov) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) could also be an another great option.
However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests. Trekking in the Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug) will be affected by rain but the Summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.

OnAir80611,
Wonderful trip
We have two daughters - 9 and 11 - and we had a brilliant hike up to more than 4,000m. Wonderful guides, really great views and the hiking was great but not too tough. They balanced out the distance perfectly, so our kids had fun. Recommend family groups taking a pony too, in case any of the kids get tired. So yes, I highly recommend this!...[ View More ]
