7. Manaslu Circuit Trek

For those wanting a trek that is a little different, why not try the Manaslu circuit trek? Standing at 8163m Manaslu is the worlds 8th highest mountain and an imposing sight. Situated close to the Tibetan border and around 100km north west of Kathmandu, it was a restricted area until just over 20 years ago. More recently the political troubles within Nepal meant that it was not an area where organised groups would trek. All this has now changed however, but this trek still has far fewer trekkers than the Annapurna and Khumbu (Everest) regions. This gives it the distinct advantage of quiet trails and villages combined with the stunning scenery surrounding Manaslu.
